As the Cross Country season comes to a close, the Ionia Bulldogs traveled to Saint John’s for their Last Chance Meet at Uncle John’s Cider Mill.  Both boys and girls race together, pushing one another to the finish. They brought home 3 medals, which were given to those who got a personal or season best.

Leading the team to an 8th-place finish was Xander Towery in 14th place with a time of 18:08.. Following close behind him was Liam Thelen in 20th with a time of 18:27.4. In 51st place with a season-best time of 19:32.7 was Cooper Highlen. In 60th with a time of 19:53.1 was Jaxxon Wittenbach. Bringing up the rear was Luiz Gutierrez in 86th place with a personal best of 21:24.0 and Haddon Seal (114) with a time of 23:50.9.  

On the girls’ side, leading the team to 5th place, coming in 3rd place, was Elli Larson with a time of 20:20.3 and following right behind her in 4th place with a time of 20:27.1 was Ava Benedict. In 16th place with a time of 21:40.5 was Aubrey Pereze. In 61st place, with another personal-best time of 25:12.4  was Star Shattuck.  Bringing up the rear was Krisalynn Cooper-Fedwa in 83rd with a time of 27:14.1 and Charlie Whitney (91st) with a time of 29:35.4. 

The Ionia Bulldogs gave it all they had for the last race of the season! For three of our athletes, they will be competing on Nov. 14 at the MITCA Meet of Champions at Shepherd High School
